How to use your credit card responsibly

1. Spend only what you can afford to repay.
Don’t treat your credit limit as extra income. Only spend what you know you can repay from your available income.

2. Pay on time every month.
Make your payment by the due date to avoid late-payment fees and unnecessary interest.

3. Pay more than the minimum whenever possible.
Paying only the minimum can take much longer to clear your balance and may cost you more in interest.

4. Keep your balance low and avoid maxing out your card.
Using a large portion of your available credit can make it harder to manage your debt. Keep your spending within a comfortable level.
